But, yes, I'm frustrated that MS would make it complicated for anyone that might be stuck in this situation. definitely, the company I'm using had plenty of time to prepare for it. I do blame MS, and maintain that, for trying to force people to purge their systems of flash.

Maybe you're confused for not reading everything I wrote? I DID blame the software company. He needs to look at Adobe and who ever is making his educational software. He is blaming Microsoft when this has nothing at all to do with Microsoft. But, also a bit frustrated with the curriculum company as they had plenty of time to prepare for this situation. why couldn't that continue? I mean, anything that replaces it, wouldn't that also have to be fixed every so often? Wouldn't their be vulnerabilities?įor now, I just need to make sure I don't lose flash until(and if) the company updates to not require it anymore. I mean, they did security updates over and over. I never understood why flash was supposedly unfixable. How long before MS forces it entirely on people? And why? Why do they care if people have flash running or not? Why is that an update?Ĭomplete side note.

So, for now I have to make sure I just don't remove flash from their computers. we have a lot of years worth here and lots of years of kids going through it. I cannot afford to just ditch the company. So if someone accidentally ran that update, they'd have to reinstall windows to be able to use flash again. meaning you wouldn't be able uninstall it AND you wouldn't be able to uninstall that update.

So far the company reached out last month to tell everyone that MS was rolling out an update that would PERMANENTLY remove flash from your computer. and then, making sure people don't lose where they are in their school year. I can't imagine them shipping new software to every user.

but, seems that could be a big update to roll out. They do have small curriculum updates that are fairly automatic. It is installed via CD or usb flash drive. I don't know what kind of an undertaking it will be(I've sent them an email to ask) to get everyone using it updated. My children are homeschooled and the company we use still uses flash in their software.
